RESPECT! Challenge Winners
Alandra Abrams of Philadelphia, PA. Alandra wrote a “thank you note” about her junior high school music teacher, Mrs. Karen Michalka, who taught her about love and respect in the face of adversity, and inspired her to become a music teacher as well. Alandra chose Tilden Middle School in Philadelphia as the recipient of the $10,000 prize.
The Saginaw High School Teen Advisory Council of Saginaw Charter Township, MI (submitted by Amanda Forsmark). The group of Michigan students created a video thanking their role models—from mothers to teachers—for teaching them about respect. The group chose Health Delivery, Inc as the recipient of the $10,000 prize. Health Delivery, Inc. operates a health center at Saginaw High School, providing students with a range of health services and programs.
