Workshop on the Social and Economic Costs of Violence: The Value of Prevention
The Forum on Global Violence Prevention, organized by the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies, is a two-day public workshop on the social and economic costs of violence and the value of its prevention, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. The workshop will be planned and conducted by an ad hoc committee to focus on the costs and consequences of violence, and will explore approaches and partnerships to counter violence. Particular attention will be paid to the impact on both direct and indirect victims at the individual, community and national levels.
