Futures Without Violence Selected as National Charity Partner for Mudderella
New obstacle mud run event empowers participants to own their strength and stand up to violence
SAN FRANCISCO (July 2, 2013) – National nonprofit and social change organization, Futures Without Violence has been selected to be the official national charity partner for Mudderella, a new obstacle course challenge that motivates women to own their strength, work together as a team to overcome challenges and have fun at the same time.
Mudderella participants will embark on a muddy five- to seven-mile obstacle course that emphasizes teamwork, resilience, and inner strength. All fundraising proceeds from the events will benefit Futures Without Violence’s programs to prevent abuse against women and children.
“We’re so honored to be working with Mudderella, an organization that values the importance of empowering women as much as we do,” says Esta Soler, founder and CEO of Futures Without Violence. “This support will allow us to continue building prevention and education programs –and support victims and survivors of violence and abuse throughout the country.”
Created by women for women, Mudderella’s inaugural event will launch on Saturday, September 21, 2013 in Tamiment, Pennsylvania in the Poconos and plans to expand in cities across the U.S. in 2014.
“Mudderella promotes individuals coming together to overcome obstacles,” says Cristina DeVito, CEO of Mudderella.“It is also about supporting those who deal with real obstacles in their lives. We are honored to support Futures Without Violence and do our part in driving awareness to this important cause.”
Futures Without Violence has been speaking out on behalf of victims and survivors of violence and abuse for over 30 years, making a critical difference in the lives of millions of women, children, and families by developing innovative programs and policies that engage new allies as partners in the solution.
