Lifetime's Weekend

Apr 21, 2006

On April 22 and 23, Lifetime Television will offer a special weekend of anti-violence themed programming hosted by actor Ricardo Antonio Chavira of “Desperate Housewives” and his real-life father, Family Court Judge Juan Antonio Chavira. A highlight will be the award-winning documentary, “Searching for Angela Shelton,” on Saturday at 11 PM eastern and pacific times.

The documentary chronicles the experiences of filmmaker Angela Shelton, who set out to meet and survey women who share her name. She discovered that 28 of the 40 Angela Sheltons she found had been victims of abuse, as she has.

During the documentary, Lifetime will feature Public Service Announcements from partner organizations, including the Family Violence Prevention Fund and the National Domestic Violence Hotline. The weekend of special programs also will include an encore of the miniseries, “Human Trafficking.” It is being held in April for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
