Disclosing Limits of Confidentiality
It is important that providers always disclose any limits of confidentiality prior to discussion about IPV.

Sample Script:
“I’m really glad you came in today. Before we get started I want you to know that everything you share with me is confidential, unless (fill in state law here and likely this will look different for an adolescent than for an adult) you have been injured by a weapon, forced to have sex by someone or are suicidal – those things I would have to report ok?”
