International Day of the Girl – October 11, 2018

The world’s 1.1 billion girls are a source of power, energy, and creativity. International Day of the Girl is Oct. 11, and it’s a day to highlight the challenges girls face around the world while promoting girls’ empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.

Help us encourage Congress to stand up and advocate for girls globally!

Here’s how:

1. Prior to Oct. 5, make your own unique International Day of the Girl bracelet – use whatever creativity and materials you’d like.

2. Write a brief message about why girls should not be left behind in times of crisis.

3. Mail us your bracelet and message NO LATER THAN OCT. 5 TO:

Futures Without Violence
1320 19th Street NW, Suite 401
Washington, DC 20036

We will be sharing your bracelets and notes with members of Congress and their staff at our International Day of the Girl event on Oct. 9.

4. Be sure to visit the International Day of the Girl website and use #dayofthegirl on social media to highlight this important day.
