We know you share the incredible joy we felt yesterday when the United States Senate confirmed Ketanji Brown Jackson to be the next associate justice in our country’s highest court. The bipartisan vote was both historic and meaningful. At long last, there will be a Black woman on the U.S. Supreme Court!

ketanji-brown-jacksonWe are so grateful to President Biden and Vice President Harris for nominating this brilliant jurist, who is superbly qualified and will bring a badly needed perspective to the Court. Judge Jackson shares lived experiences with most Americans. The first Black woman and third Black justice in our entire history, she will help make our justice system – and our country – more fair.

We were awed by the strength Judge Jackson demonstrated during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings and applaud her deep commitment to equal justice for all.

This is a historic, joyful moment at a time when we need reasons to celebrate. We won’t stop here. Together, we will find ways to continue the progress. Thank you for being an essential part of our work!
